APPSC GROUP I EXAMINATION- PATTERN

• The basic structure of the exam is
  
  1 Preliminary (Screening Test)
  2 Mains ( Conventional Type)
  3 Interview
  
  I Preliminary Examination:
  
  This is the basic screening test .

TYPE : All are Objective type questions (150 questions).
TIME DURATION : 2hours 30 minutes.

MARKS : 150 Marks

SYLLABUS : General Studies & Mental Ability.


II MAIN Examination:( Conventional Type )

A Compulsory Subjects:

English ---- 3 hours-------150 Marks

Paper I:
General Essay--3 hours-------150 Marks

Paper II: -----------3 hours-------150 Marks

i. History & Cultural heritage of India with
emphasis on 20th century history of
India.
ii. Social history of Andhra Pradesh i.e.,
the history of various social and cultural
movements in Andhra Pradesh
iii. General overview of the Indian
Constitution

Paper-III: ----------3 hours-------150 Marks

i) Planning in India & Indian Economy
ii) Land Reforms and social changes in
Andhra Pradesh after independence
iii) Andhra Pradesh’s Economy, present
status its strengths and weaknesses


Paper-IV: ---------------3 Hours -----150 Marks

i) The role and impact of Science &
Technology in the development of India
with emphasis on the applied aspects
ii) General awareness with the modern
trends in life sciences.
iii) Development and environmental
problems

Paper-V:-----------------3 hours------150 Marks.

i) Data appreciation and interpretation
ii) The candidates will be asked to draw
their own conclusion from the data
presented in the tabular form in
graphical or otherwise
iii) Problem solving .

B Interview ------------------75 Marks.


Total Marks: PaperI(Essay) + Papers II, III, IV, V + Interview =750 +75 =825

(English marks are not added for the final rank.)

The total examination will take 6 months to 1 year for all the stages to complete and final list is announced. Sometimes this may be delayed due to legal hassles or government orders.

So be ready to be patient and willing to take the delays .

The preparation for Prelims, Mains and Interview differ and each require certain skills and techniques to get good results.
